German readers expect content written in German by people who know their market, and in my experience German search results reward depth more than volume. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, the Nordics or elsewhere in the EU that wants to hire one of the content marketing agencies in Germany to win readers, leads and links in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. I am Adrian Dąbrowiecki, an SEO consultant in Wrocław, and I write every ranking on this site myself. I kept five agencies, all registered in the German commercial register (Handelsregister) and headquartered in Germany. Their register numbers and VAT IDs come from their Impressum, the legal notice every German business site must carry.
Content marketing agencies in Germany at a glance
If you only have a minute, these are the content marketing agencies in Germany I would shortlist as a foreign company, in the order I would contact them. The first two are content-led; Claneo is search-led; morefire and eology are full-service agencies with strong content units.
- suxeedo – Berlin content-marketing and SEO agency that distributes content through seeding.
- Kammann Rossi – Owner-managed Cologne content and corporate-publishing agency with its own AI workspace.
- Claneo – Berlin agency for international SEO, GEO and content marketing with a data-PR unit.
- morefire – Cologne B2B agency with an in-house editorial team and a HubSpot Diamond badge.
- eology – Bavarian online-marketing agency with in-house content creation and a content-outreach unit.

How I ranked the content marketing agencies in Germany
I ranked the content marketing agencies in Germany by content specialisation first, distribution second and fit for a foreign client third:
- Content specialisation – an agency that calls content its core business (suxeedo, Kammann Rossi) ranks above a search agency with a content unit (Claneo) or a full-service agency (morefire, eology).
- Distribution – content only works if people see it. I looked for seeding, digital PR, outreach and lead nurturing, not only writing.
- Track record – named clients and published campaigns. Clipping and backlink counts are the agencies’ own claims, and I quote them as such.
- Fit for a foreign buyer – working languages and content for several markets, as at Claneo.
- Reviews – only Claneo has Clutch reviews, five of them. Where there are no usable reviews I say so and name the strongest other signal.
The ranking includes only firms registered and headquartered in Germany; I left out local offices of international networks such as WPP, Publicis and Dentsu and German agencies they own. A few agencies whose service pages I could not read in enough detail were left out. If you want paid search next to your content, see my ranking of Google Ads agencies in Germany; for a broader partner, see my list of marketing agencies in Germany.
The 5 best content marketing agencies in Germany, reviewed
Every content marketing agency in Germany below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.
1. suxeedo
Berlin content-marketing and SEO agency that distributes content through seeding
suxeedo is a Berlin content-marketing and SEO agency with an office in Hannover. It plans and produces content and then distributes it through seeding with influencers, organisations and authority media, aiming for reach, backlinks and PR effects; digital PR, GEO/LLMO and B2B marketing sit alongside. A German LinkedIn agency list by magier.com – itself an agency – describes its LinkedIn work as content-first, with carousels, short video and organic reach. It says it has completed more than 1,000 projects, and I saw no parent company named on its site.
What clients say. I found no usable reviews for suxeedo’s content work. Client logos on its site – among them Otto, HubSpot, AutoScout24, Zalando, Comdirect and Zeiss – are the strongest signal, though they are self-reported.
Facts: founded 2011 · Berlin · 40+ people · German, English.
My take: my first call when content should not only be written but also placed in German media and with influencers by the same team. Best for: brands that want content marketing plus seeding in German media from a content-led agency. Not for: buyers who only need SEO texts at volume, or paid media.

2. Kammann Rossi
Owner-managed Cologne content and corporate-publishing agency with its own AI workspace
Kammann Rossi is an owner-managed Cologne agency that says it has existed for 50 years and works in content marketing and corporate publishing. Its content unit produces magazines, reports and campaigns for digital and print, next to ESG reporting, internal and change communication, design and AI consulting. It runs AssistantOS, its own AI workspace for marketing and communication teams. It says it has about 20 employees. Its site is in German, and its strength is editorial and corporate content rather than SEO content programmes.
What clients say. I found no usable reviews. Named clients such as Clariant, ARAG, Telefónica, OLB, Bosch, Thalia and REWE are the strongest signal.
Facts: Cologne · about 20 people · German.
My take: the pick for a corporate that wants editorial-grade magazines, reports and stakeholder content in German. Best for: corporates that want editorial-grade content, magazines and reports in German, with ESG and internal communication. Not for: performance-driven SEO content programmes or English-first international content.

3. Claneo
Berlin agency for international SEO, GEO and content marketing with a data-PR unit
Claneo is a Berlin agency that describes itself as an international agency for SEO, GEO and content marketing. Content production sits next to a full digital PR unit that runs data PR built on its own data, public statistics, scraping and representative surveys, plus brand and regional PR. It reports campaigns such as Bonial/kaufDA with 141 clippings and 116 backlinks and Jacasa with 105 clippings including BILD and FAZ. It lists five working languages, which helps if you need content for several markets. Its content is search-led, so it ranks below the two content-first agencies.
What clients say. Clutch: 4.9/5 from 5 reviews. Five reviews is a small sample; its published campaigns are a further signal, although those counts are its own. Clients include HelloFresh, Henkel, Omio, Doctolib and Lieferando.
Facts: founded 2017 · Berlin · 80+ people · $100–149/h · minimum project $5,000 · German, English, French, Spanish, Italian.
My take: the pick for search-led content and data-PR campaigns, including content for several European markets. Best for: brands that want search-led content and data-PR campaigns, including for several markets. Not for: buyers who want brand magazines or video-led content.

4. morefire
Cologne B2B agency with an in-house editorial team and a HubSpot Diamond badge
morefire is a Cologne online-marketing agency for B2B and e-commerce companies with more than 120 staff. Its content-marketing service covers strategy, topic research and monitoring, an in-house editorial team writing blog posts, videos and e-books, influencer research and seeding, photography and reporting. It shows a HubSpot Diamond partner badge, which I did not cross-check and which suits content tied to marketing automation and lead nurturing. It publishes no prices and no content results. It is a full-service agency, so it ranks below the content specialists.
What clients say. I found no usable reviews. Clients named on its site, such as Verlag C.H.BECK, Trusted Shops, Security and Safety Things and SalesViewer, are the strongest signal.
Facts: founded 2005 · Cologne · 120+ people · German, English.
My take: a good fit for a B2B firm that wants SEO-aware content feeding HubSpot lead nurturing. Best for: B2B firms that want SEO-aware content tied to HubSpot lead nurturing. Not for: buyers who want a pure content boutique or published content results.

5. eology
Bavarian online-marketing agency with in-house content creation and a content-outreach unit
eology is a Bavarian online-marketing agency with offices in Volkach, Würzburg and Hamburg. It creates content in-house, and its Content Outreach unit handles online PR, content seeding, influencer marketing and link marketing next to SEO and SEA. It holds BVDW certificates for SEO and SEA. A third-party ranking describes it as a specialist in manual outreach for niche, on-topic German placements. It is a full-service agency with content as one line, so it ranks last here.
What clients say. I found no usable reviews for eology’s content work. Named clients such as ZF Friedrichshafen, Telekom, EDEKA, Knauf, Lexware, Decathlon, Goodyear and About You are the strongest signal.
Facts: Volkach · German, English.
My take: a solid choice when SEO content and its distribution through outreach and seeding should come from one German team. Best for: brands that want SEO content plus outreach and seeding from one German team. Not for: buyers who want editorial brand publishing.

Quality, specialisation and what content marketing agencies in Germany charge
Content marketing agencies in Germany rarely publish prices. Claneo shows $100–149 an hour and a $5,000 minimum project on Clutch; suxeedo, Kammann Rossi, morefire and eology quote after a briefing. German agencies usually price content as a monthly retainer for a set number of pieces, as project fees for campaigns or magazines, or by the day for strategy work, and seeding or PR campaigns are often priced separately. Influencer fees and paid distribution come on top.
On specialisation: suxeedo combines content with seeding in German media, Kammann Rossi does editorial and corporate publishing, Claneo does search-led content with data PR in several languages, morefire ties content to HubSpot lead nurturing, and eology adds content outreach to SEO and SEA.
How to choose a content marketing agency in Germany
Choosing a content marketing agency in Germany starts with what the content has to do – rank, earn links, build a brand or feed your sales team:
- Search, PR or brand – pick a search-led agency if organic traffic is the goal, a seeding or PR agency if you need links and reach, and an editorial agency for magazines, reports and stakeholder content.
- Usage rights – under German copyright law the author keeps the copyright and grants usage rights (Nutzungsrechte). Make sure the contract gives your company comprehensive, exclusive usage rights to texts, photos and videos, including for later changes and other markets.
- Labelling paid placements – paid seeding and influencer posts must usually be labelled as advertising (“Werbung” or “Anzeige”) in Germany. Ask how the agency handles labelling.
- Consent for tracking – if the agency measures content with analytics, heatmaps or ad pixels, those tools usually need the visitor’s prior consent under the TDDDG (formerly TTDSG) and the GDPR (DSGVO). If the agency gets access to personal data, sign a data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, AVV).
- Language – Kammann Rossi presents itself in German only; suxeedo, morefire and eology list English, and Claneo five languages. Agree the language of briefings and reports before you sign.
Also check the paperwork when you hire a content marketing agency in Germany. The Impressum gives the register court and number (HRB for a GmbH), which you can confirm on handelsregister.de, and the VAT ID (USt-IdNr, DE followed by nine digits), which you can check in the EU’s VIES database. If your business is in another EU country and gives its own VAT number, the reverse charge usually applies and the invoice carries no German VAT; for a business outside the EU, German VAT is in most cases not charged on these services. Confirm with your adviser – this is not legal or tax advice. Germany is on Central European Time (CET) and invoices in EUR. For comparison, see my list of content marketing agencies in Poland, where agency rates are usually lower.

Do content marketing agencies in Germany work in English?
Yes, several content marketing agencies in Germany in this ranking work in English: suxeedo, morefire and eology list English, and Claneo lists five languages. Kammann Rossi presents itself in German only, so agree the working language before you sign.
Can a content marketing agency in Germany write content for other markets?
Yes, a content marketing agency in Germany can write for other markets, but few in this ranking say so. Claneo lists German, English, French, Spanish and Italian; the others focus on German-speaking markets.
How much do content marketing agencies in Germany charge?
Content marketing agencies in Germany in this ranking mostly quote after a briefing. Claneo shows $100–149 an hour and a $5,000 minimum project on Clutch. Retainers, project fees and day rates are common, and influencer fees or paid distribution come on top.
Do I own the content a content marketing agency in Germany creates for me?
No, not automatically – under German copyright law the author keeps the copyright, and you receive usage rights. Make sure the contract with the content marketing agency in Germany grants comprehensive, exclusive usage rights. This is not legal advice.
My verdict: which content marketing agency in Germany to hire
Choosing among content marketing agencies in Germany depends on what the content must achieve. For content plus seeding in German media, hire suxeedo. For editorial magazines and corporate publishing, hire Kammann Rossi. For search-led content and data PR in several languages, hire Claneo. For B2B content tied to HubSpot, hire morefire; for SEO content with outreach, talk to eology.
Whichever content marketing agency in Germany you choose, agree the goal, the number of pieces, how distribution is paid and – above all – that the usage rights to everything produced are yours before work starts.
