SEO agencies in Europe by country: where to hire and what it costs
The same ranking of SEO agencies, written for Poland, Spain and Germany – so a company in the US or UK can compare countries before comparing agencies.
Rankings of SEO agencies in Europe by country
If you are hiring an SEO agency abroad, the country you choose matters almost as much as the agency. This page compares SEO agencies in Europe country by country – what each market is good at, what it costs and when it is the right choice – and links to my written ranking for each country.
How SEO agencies in Europe differ by country
SEO agencies in Europe fall into two groups. Agencies in Poland, Spain and the rest of Central and Southern Europe compete on senior skills at a moderate price and often work mainly for foreign clients. Agencies in Germany, the UK, the Netherlands and the Nordics work mostly for their home markets, at Western European rates, and are the right choice when you need native content and local links in that language.
SEO agencies in Europe: which country for which goal
Choose SEO agencies in Europe by the market you want to win, not only by price:
- English-speaking markets (US, UK) – Poland has the deepest pool of SEO agencies used to US and UK clients, especially for SaaS and e-commerce.
- Spanish-speaking markets (Spain, Latin America) – an agency in Spain gives you native copy and Spanish-language link building.
- DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) – a German agency knows how German buyers search and what German websites must contain.
- Several European markets at once – an international agency in Poland or Spain with native writers per language usually costs less than separate local agencies.
What SEO agencies in Europe charge
Rates for SEO agencies in Europe vary by country more than by agency size. In my rankings, the median hourly rate is $50–99 in Poland and Spain and $100–149 in Germany, against $150–199 for comparable US agencies on Clutch. Senior specialists cost more everywhere; standardised SEO packages for small businesses cost less. Compare what is included – strategy, content, technical work and links – rather than the monthly fee alone.
How to choose between SEO agencies in Europe
Whatever country you choose, ask every SEO agency on your shortlist for a case study in your target market and language, the name of the person who will run your account, and a sample monthly report. Check that their Clutch and Google reviews are recent, and agree in writing who owns the content and links built for you.
