Best Web Development Companies in Ireland (2026): 7 Companies Reviewed

Ireland combines a mature public-sector web market, a strong design scene and many international technology firms, which shows in its web agencies: Drupal specialists for councils and universities, enterprise-CMS teams for banks and utilities, and small senior studios for start-ups. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or the Nordics that wants to hire one of the web development companies in Ireland. I am Adrian, an SEO consultant in Wrocław, and I research and write every ranking on this site myself. I kept 7 companies, all registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), and read each one’s CRO data.

How I ranked the web development companies in Ireland

I ranked the web development companies in Ireland by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:

  • Platform focus – Drupal, Craft CMS, enterprise CMSs such as Sitecore and Optimizely, WordPress and React, or custom builds.
  • Track record – named clients, years on the market and certifications such as ISO 27001.
  • Reviews – Annertech, Kooba and Mawla have Clutch ratings, from three, six and eleven reviews. Where there are no usable reviews, I say so and name the strongest other signal.
  • Fit for foreign clients – offices or frameworks outside Ireland, such as Annertech’s UK public-sector work and Matrix Internet’s Brussels office.
  • Registration – CRO number, incorporation date and, where I could read them, directors (via solocheck.ie and northdata.com, which republish CRO data). Where the current company is younger than the brand, I say so. Most small Irish companies file abridged accounts without turnover, so I quote no revenue figures.

The list includes only firms registered and headquartered in Ireland, and excludes Irish offices of foreign agencies and IT groups. Each&Other is a UX and product design studio rather than a build shop, and I include it for buyers who need design first. Many buyers in Ireland compare with British suppliers, so see also the same list for the UK; if your budget is tighter, here is the same list for Poland, where rates are usually lower.

The 7 best web development companies in Ireland, reviewed

Every web development company in Ireland below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.

1. Annertech

Drupal and LocalGov Drupal specialist for the public sector, NGOs and universities

Annertech is a Dublin Drupal agency founded in 2008 and a specialist in LocalGov Drupal, the shared platform used by local councils. It covers discovery and UX research, design and build, content strategy, SEO, and long-term support and hosting as an Acquia and Upsun partner. It holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 certification and Cyber Essentials, and is a supplier on the UK Crown Commercial Service framework. Its two directors are its founders; the website does not state the ownership explicitly.

What clients say. Clutch: 4.7/5 from 3 reviews. Reviewers praise innovative custom development, such as multi-site linking and dual-currency payments, and transparent project management. Three reviews is a small sample; the client list is the stronger signal: the National Library of Ireland, Oxfam Ireland, Carlow County Council, the London Borough of Haringey and Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Facts: founded 2008 · Dublin · 10–49 people · $50–99/h · minimum project $25,000 · English.

My take: the company I would call first for a public-sector, NGO or university website on Drupal, where accessibility and certified security matter. Best for: public-sector, NGO and university websites on Drupal with accessibility and ISO-certified security requirements. Not for: small brochure sites or Shopify stores.

2. Kooba

Design-led Craft CMS studio with its own accessibility consultancy

Kooba is a Dublin web design and development agency founded in 2005, with addresses in London and Berlin. It is a verified Craft CMS partner and also runs a branding studio, Ko, and an accessibility consultancy, AccessPoint; its website says it won a Large Agency of the Year award in 2025. Successor company: Clutch gives 2005 as the founding year, while the current company, Kooba Internet Solutions Limited, was incorporated in 2009. I matched the brand to that company because the registered office is the same Daintree Building address the agency uses.

What clients say. Clutch: 4.9/5 from 6 reviews. Reviewers, among them Bon Secours and The Killarney Park, point to a clear commitment to user experience and a very positive working relationship. Other clients include SETU, Skillnet Ireland, Payslip, Screen Ireland and IHREC.

Facts: founded 2005 · Dublin · 10–49 people · $100–149/h · minimum project $25,000 · English.

My take: my pick for a mid-size organisation that wants a design-led, accessible website on Craft CMS. Best for: mid-size organisations that want design-led, accessible websites on Craft CMS. Not for: projects under about $25,000.

3. Arekibo

Enterprise CMS builds and managed services for large Irish organisations

Arekibo is a Dublin digital agency at 16 Windsor Place that offers digital strategy, platform and integration work, experience design, search and AI SEO, analytics, e-commerce, cloud and managed services. It builds on enterprise CMSs including Sitecore, Sitefinity, Optimizely, Kentico, Terminalfour and Contentful, as well as WordPress. The company, Arekibo Communications Limited, was incorporated in 2001; the website does not state who owns it.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. The strongest signal is its client list: Electric Ireland, Tourism Ireland, the Central Bank of Ireland, RCSI, daa, ESB, CRH and Microsoft.

Facts: founded 2001 · Dublin · English.

My take: the one to brief when a regulated or very large organisation needs an enterprise-CMS build and someone to run it afterwards. Best for: regulated and enterprise organisations that need enterprise-CMS builds and managed services. Not for: start-ups with small budgets.

4. Matrix Internet

Web, software and digital marketing agency for Irish and EU institutions

Matrix Internet is a Dublin digital agency with a Brussels office that says it has been active since 2000. It provides UX/UI and brand design, website, app and software development, hosting, SEO and paid marketing, and managed services including cybersecurity and GDPR compliance. Successor company: its privacy policy names Matrix Internet Applications Ltd at 24 Merchants Quay, which matches the CRO entry for a company incorporated in 2011, so an older predecessor company may exist.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. The strongest signal is its client logos: the European Commission, Frontex, the European Environment Agency, the Government of Ireland, AIB Future Sparks, Miele and MJ Flood.

Facts: founded 2000 · Dublin · English.

My take: a good fit for EU-institution and public-sector bids, or an Irish company that wants its website and marketing from one supplier. Best for: EU institutions, public-sector bodies and Irish SMEs that want a web build plus marketing. Not for: buyers who want a niche single-CMS specialist.

5. Square1

Custom web, mobile and Stripe payments development for publishers and marketplaces

Square1 Software is a Dublin software and web development company with offices in Ireland, the UK and France. It builds websites, web and mobile apps, Stripe and Stripe Connect payment integrations and AI integrations, and runs PublisherPlus, its own platform for media publishers. Its website names Square1 Software Ltd., and I matched it by name to the CRO entry for Square 1 Software Limited, which filed a change of registered office effective July 2026.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. The strongest signal is its client list: DoneDeal, Hot Press, TUI, Hyundai France and Nitro.

Facts: founded 2013 · Dublin · English.

My take: my pick for a marketplace or publisher whose website is really a product, with payments built in. Best for: marketplaces, publishers and SaaS companies that need custom web and app builds with payments. Not for: simple brochure websites.

6. Mawla

Small senior team for WordPress, React and Flutter builds

Mawla is a small agency in Malahide, north Co. Dublin, with a Belfast presence, founded in 2016. Clutch lists its work as web development (50%), SEO (30%) and web design (20%), using WordPress, React and Flutter. Its clients range from start-ups to large companies such as Glenveagh and Kingspan Environmental.

What clients say. Clutch: 4.9/5 from 11 reviews. Reviewers, among them start-ups and Glenveagh, say the lead developer quickly understands their goals, delivers fast and keeps the relationship personal rather than transactional. Other named clients include My Milkman, Ding and Moment Health.

Facts: founded 2016 · Malahide · 2–9 people · $50–99/h · minimum project $10,000 · English.

My take: the one I would hire when a start-up or SME needs a nimble senior team rather than a big agency. Best for: start-ups and SMEs that want a nimble senior team for web and app builds. Not for: large enterprise programmes that need many developers.

7. Each&Other

UX research and digital product design studio

Each&Other is a Dublin UX and digital product design studio founded in 2014, with a London base at Huckletree Soho. It offers UX research, UX/UI design, fractional heads of UX, team augmentation and UX for AI products. It is a design partner rather than a build shop: pair it with a development team if you need code as well. Its footer gives its Irish company number.

What clients say. Its Clutch profile has no reviews, so there are no usable reviews. The strongest signal is its client logos: Google, Stripe, Zurich, Coinbase, SSE Airtricity, BNP Paribas and Logitech.

Facts: founded 2014 · Dublin · 10–49 people · $100–149/h · minimum project $50,000 · English.

My take: the studio I would bring in to research and design a digital product before the developers start. Best for: tech and fintech companies that need UX research and product design before or alongside development. Not for: buyers who want a full-stack build shop or a cheap website.

Quality, specialisation and what web development companies in Ireland charge

Four web development companies in Ireland in this ranking show prices on Clutch: Annertech and Mawla list $50–99 an hour, Kooba and Each&Other $100–149. Minimum projects range from $10,000 at Mawla through $25,000 at Annertech and Kooba to $50,000 at Each&Other. Arekibo, Matrix Internet and Square1 quote after a briefing. Clutch shows these figures in US dollars, but Irish companies invoice in euros. Ask also what hosting, support and maintenance cost after launch.

The main choice is between a Drupal specialist for the public sector (Annertech), a design-led Craft CMS studio (Kooba), enterprise-CMS teams (Arekibo, Matrix Internet), a custom web and app builder for marketplaces and publishers (Square1), a small senior studio for start-ups (Mawla) and a UX design studio (Each&Other).

How to choose a web development company in Ireland

Choosing a web development company in Ireland starts with the platform and the kind of project:

  • Platform first – pick a CMS you can run long term, then the specialist: Annertech for Drupal, Kooba for Craft CMS, Arekibo for Sitecore, Optimizely and similar enterprise systems.
  • Accessibility – public bodies in the EU must meet accessibility rules, and many private buyers now ask for WCAG compliance too; Kooba runs a dedicated accessibility consultancy, AccessPoint.
  • Design or build – if your product is not defined yet, start with a UX studio such as Each&Other, then hire a build team.
  • Who owns the code – agree in the contract that you own the code, the content and the hosting accounts.
  • Support after launch – ask for a support plan with response times before you sign.

Also check the paperwork when you hire a web development company in Ireland. Search the company name or CRO number free on core.cro.ie, the Companies Registration Office portal, to see the status, registered office and filing history, and put the registered name and CRO number in the contract. Check the Irish VAT number (IE followed by digits and one or two letters) in the EU’s VIES database. If your business is in another EU country and gives its own VAT number, the reverse charge usually applies and the invoice carries no Irish VAT; for a business outside the EU, Irish VAT is in most cases not charged on these services. Confirm with your adviser – this is not legal or tax advice. Ireland runs on GMT in winter and Irish Standard Time (GMT+1) in summer, one hour behind Central European Time.
