Sweden is one of Europe’s most advanced e-commerce markets, and its web agencies build online stores for fashion brands sold worldwide as well as complex sites for Swedish companies and authorities. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or elsewhere in the Nordics that wants to hire web development companies in Sweden – for a headless store, an enterprise commerce build or a corporate website. I kept 6 companies, all registered with Bolagsverket, the Swedish Companies Registration Office, and read each one’s registry data and filed accounts.

How I ranked the web development companies in Sweden
I ranked the web development companies in Sweden by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:
- Work and clients – the brands and organisations a company has built for, such as Grebban’s stores for Björn Borg and Peak Performance and Ninetech’s B2B work for Würth.
- Platforms – headless commerce (Centra, Shopify Plus, Norce, commercetools), enterprise commerce (Adobe) and CMS and PIM platforms such as Optimizely, inriver and Struct.
- Fit for a foreign buyer – work in English, offices outside Sweden and experience with international stores, as at Grebban and Vaimo.
- Reviews – none of these companies has usable Clutch reviews; Wasabi Web is listed but not yet reviewed. Where there are no usable reviews I say so and name the strongest other signal.
- Accounts and registration – Swedish limited companies (aktiebolag) file their annual reports with Bolagsverket, and these are public, so I could read turnover and result via allabolag.se, which republishes Bolagsverket data. For Vaimo and Ninetech I read only the search listing, so I show turnover but no directors.
The list includes only firms registered and headquartered in Sweden. I left out the Swedish offices of foreign IT and digital groups, and a few companies I could not describe from sources I had actually read were left out as well.
The 6 best web development companies in Sweden, reviewed
Every web development company in Sweden below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.
1. Grebban
Gothenburg e-commerce agency for premium headless stores for fashion and lifestyle brands
Grebban is a Gothenburg e-commerce agency founded in 2011 that designs and builds headless online stores – it calls them digital flagship stores – for fashion and lifestyle brands on Centra, Shopify Plus and Norce. It also offers branding, design audits, a design subscription and technology consulting, and has offices in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and London. Its parent is the Swedish Grebban Partner AB, which by its name is owned by the partners; I did not read the shareholder list.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its client list is the strongest signal: Björn Borg, J.Lindeberg, Peak Performance, Filippa K, Hestra, Sandqvist, Djerf Avenue and Polarn O. Pyret. Grebban Design AB reported turnover of SEK 97.8m and a net profit of SEK 5.2m for 2024, the latest year filed.
Facts: founded 2011 · Gothenburg · 102 people · Swedish, English, Norwegian, Danish.
My take: the agency I would call first for a premium headless store for a fashion or lifestyle brand. Best for: fashion, apparel and lifestyle brands that want a premium headless D2C store for international markets. Not for: B2B portals or low-budget template shops.

2. Vaimo
Founder-led Swedish digital-commerce agency for B2C and B2B stores on Adobe, commercetools and Shopify
Vaimo was founded in Sweden in 2008 by David Holender, PJ Utsi and Staffan Palopää, and its website says the founders still run it, with Holender as CEO. It is a digital-commerce consultancy for brands, retailers, manufacturers and institutions, covering consulting, solution development, experience design, analytics and AI, optimisation and support, on Adobe, commercetools, Shopify, Contentful and Akeneo, with local teams in several markets. Ownership: Vaimo’s own blog reports that the Japanese group transcosmos invested in the company and later made a follow-on investment; I did not find the size of that stake and saw no sign that it controls Vaimo, but I did not read a shareholder register. The Swedish structure includes Vaimo Sweden AB, Vaimo Group Services AB and the holding Vaimo AB.
What clients say. I did not find usable reviews for Vaimo. The strongest signal is scale: Vaimo Sweden AB reported turnover of SEK 155.1m for 2025, and Vaimo Group Services AB a further SEK 126.4m. I read these figures from the allabolag search listing only, so its directors, headcount and parent company are not shown here.
Facts: founded 2008 · Stockholm · Swedish, English.
My take: my pick for an enterprise e-commerce build, B2C or B2B, that needs long-term support in several countries. Best for: mid-size and large retailers and B2B manufacturers that need an enterprise e-commerce build and long-term support across several countries. Not for: small shops on a tight budget or brochure websites.

3. Fröjd
Stockholm web agency for complex corporate and public-sector websites, UX, SEO and optimisation
Fröjd is a Stockholm digital agency founded in 2006 with about 50 specialists in UX and design, web development, analytics and optimisation, content and SEO, plus consultants placed with clients. It regularly wins public procurements as a web partner, for example for Stångåstaden. Ownership: its current parent is the Swedish AMB Capital AB, and its website says Fröjd is becoming part of Eidra, the Stockholm group that also owns the brand agency Kurppa Hosk. Its homepage does not say which CMS platforms it works with.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its client list is the strongest signal: Jämtkraft, Stockholm Business Region, Nord Keyboards, Agria Djurförsäkring, Visit Värmland and Transportföretagen. Turnover was SEK 69.5m in 2025, with a net profit of SEK 3.6m.
Facts: founded 2006 · Stockholm · 45 people · Swedish, English.
My take: a strong choice for an organisation that wants a long-term partner for a complex corporate or public-sector website. Best for: organisations that need a long-term partner for complex corporate or public-sector websites in Sweden. Not for: pure e-commerce D2C builds or offshore-priced projects.

4. QueensLab
Gothenburg agency for apps, websites, commerce and branding, with a team in Lisbon
QueensLab is a Gothenburg digital agency with offices in Stockholm and Lisbon that builds apps, websites, digital services and commerce solutions, and also does branding and marketing. The Lisbon team makes part of the work nearshore. The main company, QueensLab AB, was registered in 2017; the founding year of the brand is not stated. Its parent is the Swedish Digital Castl3 AB, and a sister company, QueensLab Stockholm AB, runs the Stockholm office.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its client logos and cases are the strongest signal: Polestar, Volvo, Scania, Toyota, Handelsbanken, Plejd, Västtrafik and WWF. QueensLab AB reported turnover of SEK 49.6m for 2025 and QueensLab Stockholm AB a further SEK 19.7m.
Facts: Gothenburg · 25 people · Swedish, English, Portuguese.
My take: worth a call when you want app and web product work with design under one roof, partly delivered from Portugal. Best for: brands that want app and web product development with design under one roof, partly nearshore in Portugal. Not for: very small brochure-site budgets.

5. Ninetech
Karlstad digital consultancy for AI-assisted development, B2B e-commerce, PIM and CPQ
Ninetech is a Swedish digital consultancy with offices in Karlstad, Stockholm and Örebro and a focus on manufacturing companies. On the web side it builds B2B e-commerce, customer portals, CPQ product configurators, PIM-driven websites and digital advisory, on platforms such as Optimizely, Norce, inriver and Struct PIM, Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365 CRM, and it positions itself as an expert in AI-assisted development. Ownership: its website presents it as part of the Swedish CombinedX group, based in Karlstad; I did not verify the ownership chain. Its website is in Swedish, and I could not confirm work in English.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its client list is the strongest signal: Würth, OBOS Sverige, SkiStar, Dekra, Viking Line, Absolent and Vedum. Ninetech AB reported turnover of SEK 114.3m for 2025; I read this from the allabolag search listing only, so its directors and headcount are not shown here.
Facts: Karlstad · Swedish.
My take: my pick for a B2B manufacturer that needs e-commerce, a product configurator and PIM on one platform. Best for: B2B and manufacturing companies that build e-commerce, product configurators and PIM-driven websites. Not for: consumer-app start-ups looking for a low-cost offshore team.

6. Wasabi Web
Uppsala web agency for web production, SEO, hosting, operations and security for SMEs
Wasabi Web is an Uppsala digital agency founded in 2012, with offices in Stockholm and Gävle, that covers web design and development, digital strategy, UX, SEO and content, plus website operations, security and training. On Clutch it lists clients in business services, construction, real estate, e-commerce and IT, a fifth of them enterprises. I could not read its website, so the services come from its Clutch listing. It is owned by its CEO’s holding company.
What clients say. Wasabi Web is listed on Clutch but has no reviews yet, so there are no usable reviews. Its accounts are the strongest signal: turnover of SEK 19.3m and a net profit of SEK 5.6m in 2025, with ten employees.
Facts: founded 2012 · Uppsala · 10 people · $25–49/h · minimum project $5,000 · Swedish, English.
My take: a sensible choice for a Swedish SME that wants a website plus hosting, maintenance and SEO from one supplier. Best for: SMEs that want a website plus ongoing hosting, maintenance and SEO from one Swedish supplier. Not for: complex custom software or app development.

Quality, specialisation and what web development companies in Sweden charge
Only one of the web development companies in Sweden in this ranking shows a rate on Clutch: $25–49 an hour for Wasabi Web, with a minimum project of $5,000 – an unusually low band for Sweden, so confirm it in a quote. The others price per project or on a retainer after a briefing, and enterprise commerce builds are usually large multi-month projects. Invoices are usually in Swedish kronor (SEK), which floats against the euro, so agree the currency in the contract. As a general observation, Swedish development rates are among the highest in the EU, similar to Denmark and well above Central and Eastern Europe; QueensLab delivers part of its work from Lisbon.
The main choice is between a fashion and lifestyle e-commerce specialist (Grebban), an enterprise commerce consultancy for B2C and B2B (Vaimo), a partner for complex corporate and public-sector sites (Fröjd), an app and web product studio (QueensLab), a B2B and manufacturing specialist (Ninetech) and a web, hosting and SEO supplier for SMEs (Wasabi Web).
How to choose a web development company in Sweden
Choosing a web development company in Sweden starts with the platform and the kind of site you need:
- Consumer store or B2B portal – Grebban builds premium consumer stores; Vaimo and Ninetech also handle B2B commerce, portals and product configurators.
- Platform – Swedish agencies often work with Nordic commerce platforms such as Centra and Norce as well as Shopify Plus and Adobe. Choose the platform first, then an agency with live projects on it.
- Language – English is spoken at a very high level in Sweden, but some agencies, such as Ninetech, present themselves in Swedish only. Agree the project language and the language of documentation before you sign.
- Who owns the code – agree in the contract that you own the code, the designs and the hosting accounts, and how support and handover work if you change supplier.
- Ownership – Fröjd is joining the Eidra group, Ninetech belongs to CombinedX and the Japanese group transcosmos has invested in Vaimo. Ask who will run your project if the ownership changes.
Also check the paperwork when you hire a web development company in Sweden. Every company has a ten-digit organisation number (org.nr); you can look it up at Bolagsverket, which also sells copies of the filed annual reports, while free sites such as allabolag.se show turnover, result and board members. Check the VAT number – in most cases SE followed by the ten digits of the org.nr and 01 – in the EU’s VIES database. If your business is in another EU country and gives its own VAT number, the reverse charge usually applies and the invoice carries no Swedish VAT (moms); for a business outside the EU, Swedish VAT is in most cases not charged on these services. Confirm with your adviser – this is not legal or tax advice. Sweden is on Central European Time (CET), the same as Germany and Denmark. For a Nordic comparison, see the same list for Denmark, and if your budget is tighter, here is the same list for Poland, where rates are usually lower.
Web development companies in Sweden: FAQ
The questions foreign companies ask most before hiring web development companies in Sweden.
Do web development companies in Sweden work in English?
Yes, most web development companies in Sweden in this ranking work in English, and Grebban and Vaimo build stores for international markets. Ninetech presents itself in Swedish only, so ask about the project language there.
Which web development company in Sweden is best for a fashion online store?
The best web development company in Sweden for a fashion online store, in my view, is Grebban, which builds headless stores for Björn Borg, J.Lindeberg, Peak Performance and Filippa K. For a larger enterprise build on Adobe or commercetools, I would also talk to Vaimo.
How much do web development companies in Sweden charge?
Web development companies in Sweden mostly price per project after a briefing, and only Wasabi Web shows a Clutch rate, of $25–49 an hour with a $5,000 minimum. Expect enterprise commerce builds to cost far more than a small company website.

My verdict: which web development company in Sweden to hire
Choosing among web development companies in Sweden depends on the site you need. For a premium fashion or lifestyle store, hire Grebban. For an enterprise B2C or B2B commerce build across countries, hire Vaimo. For a complex corporate or public-sector website, hire Fröjd. For a manufacturer’s B2B commerce and configurator, talk to Ninetech.
Whichever web development company in Sweden you choose, agree the platform, the project language, the support model and who owns the code before work starts.
