Best IT Recruitment Agencies in the Netherlands (2026): 7 Agencies Reviewed

The Dutch tech market is short of developers, and much of it now runs in English: many Amsterdam and Eindhoven teams hire internationals as a matter of course. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or the Nordics that wants to use IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands to hire developers, data and security specialists, or IT contractors there. I kept 7 agencies and looked up each one’s KvK number, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce registration, where I could find it.

IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands at a glance

If you only have a minute, these are the IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands I would shortlist as a foreign company, in the order I would contact them. Each is reviewed below, with its registry data on its company profile.

  1. DIQQ – Amsterdam IT recruitment boutique for permanent, freelance and international hires.
  2. Blue Lynx – International recruitment since 1988, including IT, contracting and employer of record.
  3. Brunel – Listed Dutch specialist staffing group for engineering and IT professionals.
  4. JOIN IT Recruitment – Amsterdam IT recruiter for BI, ERP and CRM, infrastructure, security, development and IT executives.
  5. Magno IT Recruitment – Family-founded IT recruiter with an international team, for temporary and permanent IT specialists.
  6. Undutchables – Recruitment agency for internationals in the Netherlands, including IT-engineering roles.
  7. WKL Consultancy – International IT and telecom recruitment consultancy for agency and executive search.

How I ranked the IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands

I ranked the IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:

  • IT focus – a clear specialism in software, data, ERP or infrastructure roles beats a generalist that also does IT.
  • International reach – experience with English-speaking and relocating candidates, which most foreign employers need in the Netherlands.
  • Engagement models – permanent hire, freelance, secondment (detachering) and, for companies without a Dutch entity, contracting or employer of record.
  • Track record – named clients and years on the market. None of these agencies has Clutch reviews, so I say which other signal I relied on.
  • Registration – a KvK number I could match to the brand. Where I could not, I say so in the review.

I left out Dutch offices of foreign recruitment groups. I also left out Sterrk: North Data shows that an insolvency administrator was appointed for it in January 2026. Team sizes below are third-party figures where given. If you can hire outside the Netherlands, see the same list for Poland, where rates are lower.

The 7 best IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands, reviewed

Every IT recruitment agency in the Netherlands below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.

1. DIQQ

Amsterdam IT recruitment boutique for permanent, freelance and international hires

DIQQ is an Amsterdam IT recruitment agency at Rokin 46-1. It offers recruitment and selection, freelance placements, secondment, staffing and the hiring of international talent for IT roles. Client logos on its site include LeasePlan, RTL, 123inkt, Microsoft and Brand New Day. Its KvK number is printed in the website footer, which is how it should be.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews. Its client logos, from LeasePlan to Microsoft, and its focus on international candidates are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2017 · Amsterdam · English, Dutch.

My take: my first call for a tech team in Amsterdam, especially when the best candidates are English-speaking internationals rather than Dutch locals. Best for: scale-ups and tech teams in Amsterdam hiring developers, including English-speaking international candidates. Not for: volume hiring outside the Randstad region.

2. Blue Lynx

International recruitment since 1988, including IT, contracting and employer of record

Blue Lynx was founded in the Netherlands in 1988 by Tina Evans and lists offices in The Hague (Koninginnegracht 19), Amsterdam, Bogotá and three cities in Bulgaria. It offers contracting, executive search, employer of record and international staffing, with an IT and software practice for programming, architecture, database and cybersecurity roles. The group has several B.V.s, so ask which one contracts with you.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews, and Blue Lynx says confidentiality prevents it from naming its Fortune 500 clients. Nearly four decades in international recruitment is the strongest signal.

Facts: founded 1988 · The Hague · English, Dutch, German.

My take: the most useful agency here for a foreign company without a Dutch entity, because it can find the candidate and then employ them for you. Best for: foreign companies that need international IT candidates plus contracting or employer of record for the people they hire. Not for: buyers who want a pure developer specialist.

3. Brunel

Listed Dutch specialist staffing group for engineering and IT professionals

Brunel International N.V. is an Amsterdam-headquartered specialist staffing company listed on Euronext. It places engineers and IT professionals on contract and permanent assignments in many countries, with a strong presence in the Netherlands, Germany and energy markets.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews. Its stock-market listing, which means audited public reporting, is the strongest signal of scale and stability.

Facts: Amsterdam · English, Dutch, German.

My take: the safe choice for large programmes that need contract engineers and IT specialists in several countries from one provider. Best for: large programmes needing contract engineers and IT specialists across several countries. Not for: startups hiring a handful of developers.

4. JOIN IT Recruitment

Amsterdam IT recruiter for BI, ERP and CRM, infrastructure, security, development and IT executives

JOIN IT Recruitment is based at Oosterdoksstraat 80 in Amsterdam and recruits IT professionals in six areas: business intelligence, ERP and CRM (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics), infrastructure and DevOps, cyber security, software development and IT executive roles. Its site shows logos of a.s.r., HEMA, Rabobank, UWV and the Dutch police. I found only its holding company in the register, not the operating entity, and its founding year and size come from a third-party listing.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews. Client logos from Rabobank to UWV are the strongest signal.

Facts: founded 2018 · Amsterdam · 11–50 people · English, Dutch.

My take: the specialist I would brief for SAP, Dynamics, BI and security roles – but its website is in Dutch, so confirm English-language service first. Best for: hiring SAP and Dynamics, BI and security specialists in the Netherlands. Not for: buyers who need English-language service as standard.

5. Magno IT Recruitment

Family-founded IT recruiter with an international team, for temporary and permanent IT specialists

Magno IT Recruitment started as a family company and places temporary and permanent IT specialists in strategy, architecture, development, testing, system administration and project management. It says it has an international team of 20 people from 10 countries and works with global corporates as well as SMEs with multinational teams in the Netherlands and abroad. Its website states no address; the register places it in Ede.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews, and it names no clients. Its international team is the strongest signal for a foreign buyer.

Facts: Ede · English, Dutch.

My take: a smaller, personal agency that suits international companies better than the large staffing groups do. Best for: international companies that want a personal agency for contract and permanent IT hires in the Netherlands. Not for: large RPO or executive search mandates.

6. Undutchables

Recruitment agency for internationals in the Netherlands, including IT-engineering roles

Undutchables calls itself the pioneer in recruiting international business personnel in the Netherlands and matches multilingual candidates with Dutch employers. It covers the regions around Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Rotterdam and The Hague, and Utrecht. IT engineering is one of several disciplines alongside commercial, finance and legal roles, so it is not an IT specialist.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews. Its long focus on multilingual candidates is the signal that matters for a foreign company.

Facts: Amstelveen · English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian.

My take: the agency I would use when the role needs a second or third language more than deep technical niche skills. Best for: foreign companies setting up in the Netherlands that need multilingual staff, including some IT roles. Not for: senior or niche engineering hires.

7. WKL Consultancy

International IT and telecom recruitment consultancy for agency and executive search

WKL Consultancy is an Amsterdam-based international recruitment firm for IT and telecommunications roles, working on agency and executive-search models. Third-party profiles describe more than 15 years of experience and around 20 staff. The register shows its KvK number but no legal form, so it may not be a limited company – check this before you sign.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no usable reviews, and little is published about its clients. Its telecom focus is the main reason it is on this list.

Facts: Amsterdam · about 20 people · English, Dutch.

My take: a niche option for telecom and IT infrastructure roles – the weakest-documented agency here, so ask for references. Best for: telecom and IT infrastructure hiring with international candidates. Not for: buyers who want detailed public references.

Quality, specialisation and what IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands charge

None of the IT recruitment agencies in the Netherlands in this ranking publishes its fees. As a general market observation, permanent placements are usually charged as a percentage of the candidate’s first-year salary, while freelance and secondment placements are billed as an hourly or daily margin on top of the contractor’s rate. Ask for the fee, the payment terms and the replacement guarantee in writing before the search starts.

The main choice is between IT specialists (DIQQ, JOIN IT Recruitment, Magno IT Recruitment), international all-rounders that can also employ the people they find (Blue Lynx), a listed staffing group for large programmes (Brunel), a multilingual generalist (Undutchables) and a telecom niche player (WKL Consultancy).

How to choose an IT recruitment agency in the Netherlands

Choosing an IT recruitment agency in the Netherlands starts with how the person will be employed:

  • Your own Dutch entity – any agency here can run a permanent search, and you employ the hire yourself.
  • No Dutch entity – you need an agency that can contract or employ the person for you, such as Blue Lynx, or a separate employer of record.
  • Freelancers – Dutch rules on false self-employment (the DBA act) are being enforced more strictly since 2025, so in most cases a long, embedded freelance role is safer through secondment or employment. This is not legal advice.
  • Candidates from outside the EU – usually need a sponsor recognised by the IND, the Dutch immigration service. Ask whether the agency or your employer of record holds that status. Some expats may also qualify for the 30% ruling, a tax benefit whose rules are being tightened – check the current conditions with an adviser.
  • Checks – look up the agency in the KvK Handelsregister (kvk.nl) and its VAT number in the EU VIES database. Agencies that supply workers are also expected to register as labour providers, and many hold SNA certification.

Also check how the IT recruitment agency in the Netherlands invoices you. In most cases a Dutch agency charges no Dutch VAT on B2B services to a business in another EU country under the reverse charge, and generally none to a business outside the EU; invoices are usually in euros, and the Netherlands is on CET. This is not tax advice.
