Belgian bookkeeping, tax and payroll rules are detailed, and they come in two working languages, so most foreign companies with a Belgian entity or branch hand them to a local firm. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or the Nordics that is looking for accounting firms in Belgium. I kept 9 firms, all registered and headquartered in Belgium, looked up each one’s enterprise number (KBO/BCE) and, where they publish turnover, read the annual accounts filed with the National Bank of Belgium (NBB).
Accounting firms in Belgium at a glance
If you only have a minute, these are the accounting firms in Belgium I would shortlist as a foreign company, in the order I would contact them. Each is reviewed below, with its registry data on its company profile.
- Vandelanotte – Belgium’s largest independent accountancy and advisory firm, by its own description.
- VGD – Multidisciplinary Belgian accountancy, audit and tax firm with a Doing Business in Belgium desk.
- BFS – Belgian Financial Services – Multilingual Brussels accounting, tax and payroll firm.
- PIA Group – Accountancy and advisory group with 85+ offices, third-largest in Belgium by its own claim.
- Finvision – Accountancy, audit, transaction and CFO services from Hasselt.
- Tax Consult – Brussels and Antwerp accounting, tax, transfer pricing and VAT boutique.
- Titeca – West-Flemish accountancy group with offices including Ghent, Lokeren and Mouscron.
- Alaska – Bruges accountancy, audit and advisory group with several Belgian offices.
- Fineko – Limburg accountancy and tax firm.
How I ranked the accounting firms in Belgium
I ranked the accounting firms in Belgium by breadth of service and experience with foreign clients first, then by language and region:
- Breadth – full-service firms with audit, tax, legal and HR (Vandelanotte, VGD, Finvision), firms with in-house payroll (BFS), a VAT and transfer-pricing boutique (Tax Consult) and regional practices (Titeca, Alaska, Fineko).
- Foreign clients – English-language material for investors, as at VGD, and service in several languages, as at BFS.
- Language and region – Belgium is split by language. BFS is French-first in Brussels and Wallonia; Vandelanotte, VGD, Finvision, Titeca, Alaska and Fineko are Flemish and Dutch-first.
- Size and accounts – turnover filed with the NBB where the firm publishes it. Many Belgian firms file abbreviated accounts without turnover, or spread the practice over several entities, so the figures are for one entity, not the whole group.
- Reviews – none of the nine has a Clutch or Google review sample I could use, so I name the strongest other signal for each.
- Networks – I kept Belgian-owned firms that trade under their own names even when they belong to an international network, and say so: Vandelanotte (Crowe), VGD (Nexia) and Tax Consult (Alliott Global).
I left out the Belgian member firms of the Big Four and of BDO, Moore, PKF, HLB and Baker Tilly, and Crowe-branded firms, because they trade under an international brand.
The 9 best accounting firms in Belgium, reviewed
Every accounting firm in Belgium below gets the same treatment: who they are, what the signals say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.
1. Vandelanotte
Belgium’s largest independent accountancy and advisory firm, by its own description
Vandelanotte comes from Kortrijk and calls itself the largest independent accountancy and advisory firm in Belgium. A business magazine reported about 717 staff and EUR 79m revenue for the group in 2024, up from EUR 35m in 2019, with a target of EUR 100m by 2026. It offers accountancy, tax, audit, legal, HR and corporate finance, and has an office in Lille. In May 2025 Crowe Spark, a Crowe network firm with about 70 staff in Antwerp, Brussels, Mechelen and Bornem, joined Vandelanotte, and a Belgian Crowe entity carrying the Vandelanotte name also exists, so Vandelanotte appears to be part of the Crowe member firm in Belgium. It remains Belgian-owned and trades under its own name. The filed accounts on its profile are for the Kortrijk entity only: EUR 55.6m turnover and 291 FTE in 2025.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its size, fast growth and in-house audit, legal and HR teams are the strongest signals.
Facts: Kortrijk · about 700 people · English, Dutch, French.
My take: my first call for a foreign-owned subsidiary that wants accounting, tax, audit and HR advice under one Belgian roof. Best for: mid-size foreign-owned subsidiaries that need accounting, tax and audit under one Belgian roof. Not for: very small start-ups looking for app-based bookkeeping.

2. VGD
Multidisciplinary Belgian accountancy, audit and tax firm with a Doing Business in Belgium desk
VGD is a Belgian firm headquartered in Wemmel, just outside Brussels, offering accountancy, audit, CFO services, corporate finance, tax, legal, HR advisory, subsidies and sustainability. It is an independent Belgian member of the Nexia network, as its site footer states, and trades under its own name. It publishes an English “Doing Business in Belgium” guide for foreign investors. Statutory audit runs through a separate entity, VGD Bedrijfsrevisoren BV (0875.430.443). The accounting entity grew to EUR 58.2m turnover and 311 FTE in 2025.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its English-language material for foreign investors and the largest filed turnover in this ranking are the signals.
Facts: Wemmel (Brussels) · about 310 people · English, Dutch, French.
My take: the firm I would pick for a foreign company setting up in Belgium that wants accounting, audit and tax advice from people used to foreign owners. Best for: foreign companies setting up in Belgium that want accounting, statutory audit (separate entity) and tax advice. Not for: freelancers on a minimal budget.

3. BFS – Belgian Financial Services
Multilingual Brussels accounting, tax and payroll firm
BFS is a Brussels-headquartered firm of chartered accountants, tax advisers and lawyers with offices in Brussels, Wavre, Meise, Namur, Waterloo and Hoeilaart. It offers accounting, legal and tax advice, business transfers, audit and an in-house social bureau for payroll, and says it works in the client’s language – its site is in French, Dutch, English, Portuguese, Spanish and Greek. It reports more than 120 staff and 4,000+ clients. I saw no international network membership. I read its enterprise number from its site footer only and did not read its accounts.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Six working languages and in-house payroll are the signals.
Facts: founded 2014 · Brussels · 120+ people · English, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Greek.
My take: the firm I would recommend to a foreign founder in Brussels or Wallonia who wants bookkeeping and payroll in English or another EU language. Best for: foreign founders and SMEs in Brussels and Wallonia who want accounting and payroll in English or another EU language. Not for: large groups that need a statutory audit network.

4. PIA Group
Accountancy and advisory group with 85+ offices, third-largest in Belgium by its own claim
PIA Group calls itself the third-largest accountancy and advisory group in Belgium, with more than 85 offices. Its services include accountancy, VAT – including cross-border and e-commerce VAT – legal support from incorporation, corporate finance, wealth planning and Peppol e-invoicing, and it has sister sites in Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The holding, PIA Group Belux, was set up in Ghent in 2019, which points to a buy-and-build group; I did not verify who owns it or whether a financial investor is involved, so ask. As the holding’s accounts do not show the group’s turnover, I show none.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its office network and cross-border VAT services are the signals.
Facts: founded 2019 · Ghent / Mechelen · English, Dutch, French.
My take: a fit for a foreign e-commerce seller or SME that needs local bookkeeping plus cross-border VAT across the Benelux. Best for: foreign e-commerce and SME clients that need local bookkeeping and cross-border VAT across the Benelux. Not for: clients who want one boutique partner.

5. Finvision
Accountancy, audit, transaction and CFO services from Hasselt
Finvision is a firm rooted in Hasselt with more than 230 financial experts in Flanders, Brussels and Liège and 13 partners. It offers accountancy, tax and legal, audit and assurance, transaction advisory, CFO advisory and reporting, and interim and permanent finance staffing. Its site is in English and Dutch. The entity I found files no turnover, and the two company databases I used give different seats (Hasselt and Asse), so confirm the contracting entity. Its ownership and any network membership are not stated.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Interim finance staffing and deal support next to accounting are the signals.
Facts: founded 2009 · Hasselt · 230+ people · English, Dutch.
My take: the firm I would call if I needed an interim controller or reporting help as well as the books. Best for: companies that need interim finance staff, reporting or deal support besides accounting. Not for: clients who want French-first service.

6. Tax Consult
Brussels and Antwerp accounting, tax, transfer pricing and VAT boutique
Tax Consult is a Brussels firm on the Chaussée de La Hulpe with an office in Antwerp, offering accountancy, tax advisory, transfer pricing and VAT services. It is a member of Alliott Global, an association of independent firms, mentions UK correspondents and trades under its own name. The company dates from 1981. The NV publishes no turnover and has only 6.5 FTE, so the practice probably runs partly through other entities; I show no accounts.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Four decades of tax work and a transfer-pricing practice are the signals.
Facts: founded 1981 · Brussels · English, Dutch, French.
My take: the boutique I would use for a foreign group’s Belgian subsidiary that needs VAT and transfer-pricing support next to the bookkeeping. Best for: foreign groups with Belgian subsidiaries that need tax, VAT and transfer-pricing support plus bookkeeping. Not for: buyers who want statutory audit or payroll.

7. Titeca
West-Flemish accountancy group with offices including Ghent, Lokeren and Mouscron
Titeca (Titeca PRO Accountants & Experts) is a West-Flemish accountancy firm with offices including Roeselare, Ghent, Lokeren and Mouscron, which gives it a foothold on the French-speaking side of the language border too. A third-party listing puts it at 201–500 people. Its main accounting entity reported EUR 14.1m turnover in 2025, down from EUR 21.4m in 2024. I could not open its website, so its ownership, network ties and English-language service are not confirmed.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its regional office network in West and East Flanders is the signal.
Facts: Roeselare · 201–500 people · English, Dutch, French.
My take: a fit for a foreign-owned manufacturer or SME with a site in West or East Flanders. Best for: foreign-owned SMEs and manufacturers with operations in West and East Flanders. Not for: Brussels-based or English-first international groups, as English service is not verified.

8. Alaska
Bruges accountancy, audit and advisory group with several Belgian offices
Alaska Advisors Accountants Auditors is a group from Bruges that provides accountancy, audit and advisory from several Belgian offices; its Bruges entity dates from 1985. A third-party listing puts it at 51–200 people. Its website blocked my reader, so I took its data from a company database only, and its group structure, ownership and network ties are unknown – ask on the first call.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating, and I have no named clients. Four decades in Bruges and an in-house audit offer are the reasons it is here.
Facts: founded 1985 · Bruges · 51–200 people · English, Dutch, French.
My take: an option for a foreign-owned company in the Bruges or coastal region, once you have asked for references. Best for: SMEs and foreign-owned companies in the Bruges and coastal region. Not for: clients that need nationwide or multilingual coverage, which I could not verify.

9. Fineko
Limburg accountancy and tax firm
Fineko is an accountancy and tax firm based in Genk with an office in Leuven, serving SMEs in Limburg and Flemish Brabant; the company dates from 1996. Third-party listings disagree on its size, its legal form is unclear in the company database I used, and I did not read its website, so its ownership, network ties and English-language service are not confirmed.
What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating, and I have no named clients. Its local focus on the Genk industrial area is the reason it is on the list.
Facts: founded 1996 · Genk · English, Dutch, French.
My take: an option for a foreign-owned SME in Limburg that wants a local accountant close to its site. Best for: foreign-owned SMEs in Limburg, around the Genk industrial area. Not for: large international groups.

Quality, specialisation and what accounting firms in Belgium charge
None of the accounting firms in Belgium in this ranking publishes its prices; most quote a monthly or annual fee after a scoping call, based on the number of transactions, VAT returns, payslips and the year-end work, in euros (EUR). Ask for a fixed annual fee for bookkeeping, VAT returns, the annual accounts and the corporate tax return, and a separate quote for payroll and any statutory audit.
The main choice is between large full-service firms (Vandelanotte, VGD), a multilingual firm with payroll for founders in Brussels and Wallonia (BFS), a buy-and-build group with cross-border VAT (PIA Group), a firm with interim finance staff (Finvision), a tax and transfer-pricing boutique (Tax Consult) and regional practices in West Flanders, Bruges and Limburg (Titeca, Alaska, Fineko).
How to choose an accounting firm in Belgium
Choosing an accounting firm in Belgium starts with what you need besides the books:
- Audit – if your Belgian company needs a statutory audit, it must be done by a registered company auditor (bedrijfsrevisor / réviseur d’entreprises). VGD and Vandelanotte offer audit through their own teams; ask the others who would do it.
- Payroll – payroll in Belgium is usually run by a social secretariat; BFS has its own social bureau, and the others can work with yours.
- Language region – Flanders works in Dutch, Wallonia in French and Brussels is officially bilingual; official filings are generally made in the language of the region where your company is registered. Pick a firm that works in that language and in English.
- E-invoicing – Belgium has moved B2B invoicing between Belgian companies to structured e-invoices over Peppol; PIA Group lists Peppol support, so ask every firm how it handles it. This is not tax advice.
- Ownership – PIA Group is a buy-and-build group whose owners I could not verify; ask who owns any firm you sign with for the long term.
Also check the paperwork when you hire an accounting firm in Belgium. Check that your accountant is registered with the ITAA, the Belgian institute for tax advisers and accountants; look up the ten-digit enterprise number in the free public KBO/BCE search (kbopub.economie.fgov.be); download the annual accounts free from the NBB’s Central Balance Sheet Office; and check the VAT number (BE plus the enterprise number) in the EU’s VIES database. On VAT, in most cases a service to a VAT-registered business in another EU country is invoiced without Belgian VAT under the reverse charge, and a service to a business outside the EU is generally not subject to Belgian VAT; confirm with your adviser – this is not tax advice. Belgium is on Central European Time (CET). For comparison, here is the same list for Poland, where rates are lower.
Accounting firms in Belgium: FAQ
The questions foreign companies ask most before hiring accounting firms in Belgium.
Do accounting firms in Belgium work in English?
Yes, all the accounting firms in Belgium in this ranking list English alongside Dutch, French or both, and BFS also lists Portuguese, Spanish and Greek. Official filings are still made in Dutch or French, so ask for English summaries of your annual accounts and tax returns.
Do I need a Belgian accounting firm for my Belgian subsidiary?
No, there is in most cases no rule that a Belgian accounting firm must keep your books, but Belgian accounts, VAT returns and tax returns must follow Belgian rules and be filed in Dutch or French, so most foreign companies use a local firm. This is not legal or tax advice.
How much do accounting firms in Belgium charge?
Accounting firms in Belgium charge a monthly or annual fee in euros that depends on your transaction volume, VAT returns and payroll, and none of the nine in this ranking publishes its prices. Ask for a fixed annual fee that covers the books, VAT, the annual accounts and the corporate tax return.
Which accounting firm in Belgium is best for a foreign subsidiary?
The best accounting firm in Belgium for a foreign subsidiary is, in my view, Vandelanotte or VGD, because both offer accounting, tax, audit and HR advice from one firm and work with foreign owners. For a small company in Brussels or Wallonia that wants service in English or another EU language, BFS is the better fit.
My verdict: which accounting firm in Belgium to hire
Choosing among accounting firms in Belgium depends on your size and region. For a mid-size subsidiary that wants everything under one roof, hire Vandelanotte. For a foreign company setting up with audit and tax advice, hire VGD. For a founder in Brussels or Wallonia who wants multilingual bookkeeping and payroll, hire BFS. For cross-border e-commerce VAT, talk to PIA Group. For VAT and transfer pricing, hire Tax Consult.
Whichever accounting firm in Belgium you choose, check its enterprise number in the KBO and its ITAA registration, and agree a fixed annual fee and the filing calendar before your first year-end.
