Best Accounting Firms in the Czech Republic (2026): 7 Firms Reviewed

Every company with a Czech entity – a subsidiary, a branch or a start-up – needs Czech bookkeeping, payroll and tax filings, and the rules and the language make this one of the first things foreign owners outsource. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or the Nordics that wants to hire one of the accounting firms in the Czech Republic. I kept 7 firms, all registered and headquartered in the Czech Republic, and looked up each one’s IČO (company number) in ARES, the public register data of the Czech state.

Accounting firms in the Czech Republic at a glance

If you only have a minute, these are the accounting firms in the Czech Republic I would shortlist as a foreign company, in the order I would contact them. Each is reviewed below, with its registry data on its company profile.

  1. PKF APOGEO – Czech advisory group for accounting, payroll, tax, audit and transactions; member of PKF Global.
  2. BREDFORD Consulting – Owner-run Prague boutique for tax, accounting, payroll and company formation.
  3. Payple – Prague accounting, tax and payroll firm built for foreigners, SMEs and freelancers.
  4. Nexia AP – Prague audit, tax and accounting-advisory firm; Czech member of Nexia International.
  5. Sečteno – Prague outsourced accounting, payroll and tax firm with its own online client portal.
  6. KempHoogstad – Boutique Prague tax-advisory firm for international tax, transactions and compliance.
  7. Peritum Consulting – Small owner-run accounting and payroll practice in Prague and Ostrava.

How I ranked the accounting firms in the Czech Republic

I ranked the accounting firms in the Czech Republic by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:

  • Scope – a full service of accounting, payroll, tax and audit (PKF APOGEO), owner-run full service (BREDFORD), service for foreigners (Payple), audit and advisory (Nexia AP), portal-based outsourcing (Sečteno), tax advisory (KempHoogstad) and a personal accountant (Peritum).
  • Language – I put firms that clearly work in English higher; Payple also works in French, while Sečteno’s website is in Czech only.
  • Reviews – none of these seven has a Clutch or Google review sample I could use, so for each I name the strongest other signal.
  • Ownership and networks – PKF APOGEO is a member of PKF Global and Nexia AP of Nexia International; both networks consist of independent firms. Nexia AP is partner-owned by its own account, and PKF APOGEO appears to be Czech-owned, which I could not prove.
  • Registration – every firm is registered and headquartered in the Czech Republic.

I left out the Big Four and the Czech firms of international or cross-border groups, among them Mazars, TPA, Crowe and VGD, and Accace, which is headquartered in Slovakia.

The 7 best accounting firms in the Czech Republic, reviewed

Every accounting firm in the Czech Republic below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.

1. PKF APOGEO

Czech advisory group for accounting, payroll, tax, audit and transactions; member of PKF Global

PKF APOGEO calls itself a Czech advisory group and says it has been on the market since 2001, with more than 150 specialists in Prague (Karlín) and Brno. Separate group companies handle accounting, payroll and HR, tax, audit, transactions and valuation, company formation and administration, compliance, family office and finance systems; the profile shows PKF APOGEO Accounting, s.r.o., registered in 2022 when the group split into specialised companies. The group is a member of PKF Global, a network of independent firms with 530+ offices in 150 countries – the network membership does not make it a foreign-owned firm. The accounting company is 100% owned by PKF APOGEO Group, SE in Prague. The group’s shareholders are not shown in ARES; a 2024 register entry names the Prague company 3J GROUP, s.r.o. in connection with special shares, so the group appears to be Czech-owned, but I could not prove it.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. A 25-year track record, more than 150 specialists and membership of an international network are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2001 · Prague · 150+ people · Czech, English.

My take: my first call if a foreign-owned subsidiary wants accounting, payroll, tax and audit from one Czech group. Best for: foreign-owned subsidiaries that want accounting, payroll, tax and audit from one Czech group with an international network. Not for: micro-businesses looking for the cheapest bookkeeping.

2. BREDFORD Consulting

Owner-run Prague boutique for tax, accounting, payroll and company formation

BREDFORD Consulting, s.r.o. in Prague 1 has been registered since 2005 and is 100% owned by its CEO, Ing. Jan Bonaventura, according to ARES. It grew from a two-person team into a boutique with more than 20 specialists in tax, accounting and payroll, and it also handles company formation, liquidation and recruitment. Its website runs in Czech and English.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating; it is listed on Clutch without reviews. Twenty years under the same owner and a full tax, accounting and payroll offer are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2005 · Prague · 20+ people · Czech, English.

My take: the one I would pick if a foreign-owned SME wants one Prague firm for bookkeeping, payroll and tax, with the owner involved. Best for: foreign-owned SMEs that need one Prague firm for bookkeeping, payroll and tax. Not for: groups that need a statutory audit or multi-country consolidation.

3. Payple

Prague accounting, tax and payroll firm built for foreigners, SMEs and freelancers

Payple s.r.o. was registered in Prague 4 in 2023 by its French managing director, Frédéric Labiche, together with partner Jana Kročáková. It offers bookkeeping, tax compliance, payroll and HR administration, with online access to documents and reports. Its listing on expats.cz says most of its clients are foreigners, served in English, French and Czech. According to ARES it is owned by Payple Holding s.r.o. (51%), Frédéric Labiche (39%) and Jana Kročáková (10%). It is a young firm, so ask about the size of the team that will handle your account.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its focus on foreign clients and its English and French service are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2023 · Prague · English, French, Czech.

My take: my pick for a foreign founder, a small subsidiary or a freelancer who wants an accountant that works in English or French. Best for: foreign founders, small subsidiaries and freelancers who want English- or French-speaking accounting. Not for: large companies that need audit or complex group reporting.

4. Nexia AP

Prague audit, tax and accounting-advisory firm; Czech member of Nexia International

NEXIA AP a.s. was established on 22 January 1993 as AUDIT PLUS s.r.o. and is based in Prague 8 (Karlín). It holds audit licence no. 096 and focuses on statutory audits for Czech and foreign clients, forensic work and due diligence, plus tax, accounting and financial advisory, outsourcing and expert opinions. It is the Czech member of the Nexia International network, in which each member is a separate legal entity. Its website names NEX GROUP a.s. and NAP Holding a.s. as its main shareholders, with partners Valdemar Linek, Marek Votlučka and Mikuláš Ľaš behind them, so it is partner-owned by its own account; I could not read the current shareholders in ARES. Monthly bookkeeping and payroll are not described on its website.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. More than 30 years as a licensed audit firm and its Nexia International membership are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 1993 · Prague · Czech, English.

My take: the firm I would hire for a statutory audit or accounting and tax advice from an independent mid-size practice. Best for: foreign-owned Czech companies that need a statutory audit or accounting and tax advice from an independent mid-size firm. Not for: monthly bookkeeping and payroll as the main need.

5. Sečteno

Prague outsourced accounting, payroll and tax firm with its own online client portal

SEČTENO s.r.o. was registered in 2013 and is based in Prague 1 (Národní 58/32, in the Chicago palace). It provides outsourced accounting, payroll, tax advice and filings, an external finance department and financial management, plus mandatory and voluntary audit and HR consulting; I could not confirm whether audits are done in-house. Clients upload documents and see reports in its MojeSečteno app, included in the monthly fee. Its website is in Czech only, so ask whether your account can be handled in English. According to ARES it is owned by Collateral Invest Group a.s. (80%), a Czech company, and by Michal Špírek and Ivan Džaja (10% each).

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Its own client portal and more than ten years in business are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2013 · Prague · Czech.

My take: a good fit for a Czech subsidiary that wants portal-based accounting – if you or a colleague can work in Czech. Best for: Czech subsidiaries and SMEs that want a digital, portal-based accounting service in Prague. Not for: clients who need an English-language website and onboarding.

6. KempHoogstad

Boutique Prague tax-advisory firm for international tax, transactions and compliance

KempHoogstad, s.r.o. was founded in Prague in 2006 by tax advisers and lawyers from international firms. This small, specialised office covers transaction and tax advisory, tax compliance management (corporate, personal and indirect tax returns) and accounting methodology, so it is a tax adviser first rather than a monthly bookkeeper. It works with partner tax offices abroad, and its website links to an office in Amsterdam; I could not establish how the two are connected. It lists Legal 500, IFA and Chamber of Tax Advisers affiliations. According to ARES it is 100% owned by BPFD Holding s.r.o., a Czech company.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Twenty years of international tax work and its listed professional affiliations are the strongest signals.

Facts: founded 2006 · Prague · Czech, English.

My take: the specialist I would ask about a cross-border tax question, a transaction or the tax set-up of a Czech subsidiary. Best for: foreign investors and groups with cross-border tax questions in the Czech Republic. Not for: low-cost monthly bookkeeping.

7. Peritum Consulting

Small owner-run accounting and payroll practice in Prague and Ostrava

Peritum Consulting s.r.o. was registered in Prague 2 in 2014 and is owned and run by Ing. Barbora Uvírová (100% according to ARES). It does double-entry bookkeeping and tax records, tax returns, financial statements and consolidated statements, monthly payroll and advice on setting up accounting processes, with meetings in Prague or Ostrava. It does not state its team size, and it appears to be a very small practice.

What clients say. No usable Clutch or Google review sample was checked for this ranking, so I give no rating. Ten years under the same owner and a complete bookkeeping and payroll offer are the signals.

Facts: founded 2014 · Prague · Czech, English.

My take: a sensible choice for a small company that wants a personal accountant rather than a large firm. Best for: small companies that want a personal accountant at moderate cost. Not for: firms that need a large team or an audit.

Quality, specialisation and what accounting firms in the Czech Republic charge

None of the accounting firms in the Czech Republic in this ranking publishes its prices: bookkeeping and payroll are usually quoted as a monthly fee after you describe the number of documents, employees and filings, while audits and tax advice are quoted per engagement or by the hour. Fees are normally in Czech koruna (CZK), although some firms invoice foreign parent companies in EUR, so ask. As a general observation, Czech fees are below Western European levels.

The main choice is between a group that covers accounting, payroll, tax and audit (PKF APOGEO), owner-run full-service boutiques (BREDFORD, Peritum), a firm built for foreign clients (Payple), an audit firm (Nexia AP), a portal-based outsourcer (Sečteno) and a tax specialist (KempHoogstad).

How to choose an accounting firm in the Czech Republic

Choosing an accounting firm in the Czech Republic starts with what your Czech entity actually needs – monthly bookkeeping, payroll, tax advice or an audit:

  • Bookkeeping and payroll – PKF APOGEO, BREDFORD, Payple, Sečteno and Peritum all run monthly bookkeeping and payroll; payroll includes the Czech social security and health insurance filings.
  • Audit – if your company has to be audited, go to a licensed audit firm such as Nexia AP or the audit company of PKF APOGEO, and keep the auditor separate from the firm that keeps your books.
  • Tax advice – tax advice in the Czech Republic is a regulated profession; ask whether the person who advises you is registered with the Chamber of Tax Advisers. KempHoogstad is the specialist here.
  • Language – the books and filings are in Czech, but you will want reports and correspondence in English. Payple works in English and French; for Sečteno, ask first.
  • Reporting to the parent – agree a monthly reporting pack in English and, if needed, in your group’s chart of accounts.
  • Annual accounts – Czech companies must file their annual accounts in the Sbírka listin (collection of documents) of the commercial register; make sure the engagement covers this. This is not legal or tax advice.

Also check the paperwork when you hire an accounting firm in the Czech Republic. Look up the eight-digit IČO for free in ARES (ares.gov.cz) or the commercial register at or.justice.cz, where the Sbírka listin holds the filed annual accounts – not always up to date. Check the VAT number (DIČ, in most cases CZ plus the IČO) in the EU’s VIES database. On VAT, in most cases a service to a VAT-registered business in another EU country is invoiced without Czech VAT under the reverse charge, but if you buy the service for your Czech entity, Czech VAT will usually apply; confirm with your adviser – this is not tax advice. The Czech Republic is on Central European Time (CET). For comparison, here is the same list for Poland, where rates are lower.
