Best Web Development Companies in Denmark (2026): 9 Companies Reviewed

Denmark is a small, high-income market with a strong design tradition, and its web agencies build for retailers, manufacturers, membership organisations and public bodies, often with complex integrations. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, another EU country or elsewhere in the Nordics that wants to hire web development companies in Denmark – for a corporate website, an e-commerce platform or a web app. I kept 9 companies, all registered in the Danish Central Business Register (CVR), and read each one’s registry data and filed accounts.

The best web development companies in Denmark at a glance

If you only have a minute, these are the web development companies in Denmark I would shortlist as a foreign company, in the order I would contact them. Each is reviewed below, with its registry data on its company profile.

  1. Novicell – One of Denmark’s largest independent digital agencies, with 50+ CMS and commerce technology partners.
  2. Signifly – Design-led Copenhagen digital agency with studios in Canada, London and Oslo.
  3. IMPACT – Danish digital-commerce consultancy for B2B and B2C, with nearshore and offshore delivery.
  4. Vertica – Aarhus e-commerce and digital-platform builder for Danish retail and B2B.
  5. Dwarf – Independent Copenhagen digital agency for e-commerce, apps and websites since 2000.

  7. Adapt – Copenhagen digital design and development agency with ISAE 3402 assurance and a Lithuanian team.
  8. Morningtrain – Odense B2B web and WordPress/Laravel agency for Danish SMEs and manufacturers.
  9. Kvalifik – Small, well-reviewed Copenhagen studio for web apps and websites.

How I ranked the web development companies in Denmark

I ranked the web development companies in Denmark by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:

  • Track record – years on the market, named clients and case studies, such as Novicell’s international clients and Vertica’s retail platforms.
  • Technical depth – enterprise CMS and commerce platforms, integrations, apps, hosting and 24/7 operations.
  • Fit for a foreign buyer – English, offices outside Denmark and work for international clients, as at Signifly, Novicell and IMPACT.
  • Reviews – only Signifly (15 reviews) and Kvalifik (8) have Clutch ratings worth quoting. Where there are no usable reviews I say so and name the strongest other signal.
  • Accounts and ownership – Danish companies file their annual accounts publicly, so I read each company’s figures (via estatistik.dk, which republishes Danish Business Authority data). Many report only gross profit (bruttofortjeneste); I quote revenue only where it was filed. CVR numbers, directors and owners come from CVR data (via firmaapi.dk).

The list includes only firms registered and headquartered in Denmark. I left out Danish agencies that now belong to foreign groups, for example Peytz & Co, which is now part of the iO group, and local offices of foreign networks.

The 9 best web development companies in Denmark, reviewed

Every web development company in Denmark below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.

1. Novicell

One of Denmark’s largest independent digital agencies, with 50+ CMS and commerce technology partners

Novicell is an Aarhus-founded digital consultancy (company registered in 1997) with Danish offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen plus London and Barcelona. It builds websites and commerce platforms on Sitecore, Umbraco, Contentful, Drupal, commercetools, Shopify and other systems, and also does strategy, UX, data, CRM and martech, digital marketing and AI. With about 210 employees in the Danish company, it is the largest web developer in this ranking. It is owned by Danish holding companies of its founders and managers.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its international client list is the signal: The British Library, AlixPartners, Revlon, Flügger, Skechers, Kamstrup, Pilgrim and DESIGNA. Bureaubiz, as cited by Lex.dk, ranked it among Denmark’s ten largest agencies in 2024. Its gross profit was DKK 138.5m in 2025, and it returned to a profit of DKK 10.3m after three loss-making years.

Facts: founded 1997 · Aarhus and Copenhagen · about 210 people · Danish, English, Spanish.

My take: my first call for an enterprise CMS or commerce build that has to run in several countries. Best for: mid-size and large companies that need an enterprise CMS or commerce build plus ongoing digital marketing. Not for: small sites on a tight budget.

2. Signifly

Design-led Copenhagen digital agency with studios in Canada, London and Oslo

Signifly is a full-service digital agency founded in Copenhagen in 2010, with studios in Montréal, Toronto, London and Oslo. It works across brand, websites, digital products, campaigns, e-commerce and AI strategy, and says it has delivered 979 projects and won 52 awards, including Webby and German Design Award recognitions. The Danish company has about 45 employees; the agency speaks of 80 people from 25 nationalities. It is owned by its founders’ Danish holding companies.

What clients say. Clutch: 5.0/5 from 15 reviews. It has the most reviews in this ranking. Its clients – Google, Novo Nordisk, Maersk, LEO Pharma, 7-Eleven, General Electric, Bank of Montreal, Rystad Energy, Ferm Living and Zaptec – and its accounts back that up: net revenue of DKK 45.2m and a net profit of DKK 4.3m in 2025.

Facts: founded 2010 · Copenhagen · about 45 people · $150–199/h · minimum project $10,000 · English, Danish, French, Norwegian.

My take: the agency I would pick for a website or e-commerce build where Scandinavian design quality matters, especially from North America. Best for: brands that want Scandinavian design quality on websites, e-commerce and digital products, including North American clients. Not for: budget-driven builds under $10,000.

3. IMPACT

Hansen, Alpinestars, Lakrids by Bülow, Dansk Retursystem, Solar and KEVIN.MURPHY. The Danish company’s gross profit was DKK 176.7m in 2025, with a profit of DKK 9.2m after a loss in 2024.

It is 100% owned by Pentia Holding Danmark ApS, whose shareholders are Danish.

What clients say. I found no Clutch profile, so there are no usable reviews. Its clients are the signal: EWII, Ældre Sagen, Dansk El-Forbund, Københavns Professionshøjskole, Molio, OB and Sundhedsstyrelsen. Its accounts are solid but shrinking: net revenue fell from DKK 90.7m in the financial year 2023 to DKK 70.5m in 2025 (years ending in June), still with a profit.

Facts: founded 1998 · Copenhagen · about 75 people · Danish, English, Swedish.

My take: a strong choice for a membership organisation, utility or public body that needs a complex website or portal. Best for: membership organisations, utilities and public bodies that need complex websites, portals and integrations. Not for: consumer e-commerce brands.

It says it is ISAE 3402 certified and listed on SKI, the Danish public-procurement framework. ADAPT Group A/S holds 90% of the votes; I did not check its owners further.

Its cases are the signal: Forbrugerrådet Tænk, TrygFonden, Koda, Jeudan, Andel Energi and Ældre Sagen. Its gross profit was DKK 34.7m in 2025, with a profit of DKK 3.0m after two loss-making years.

Facts: founded 1999 · Copenhagen · about 49 people · $100–149/h · minimum project $5,000 · Danish, English.

My take: my pick for a Danish organisation or public buyer that needs a compliant web or digital-service build. Best for: Danish organisations and public-sector buyers that need compliant (ISAE 3402) web and digital-service builds. Not for: international e-commerce brands that want a commerce specialist.

8. Morningtrain

Odense B2B web and WordPress/Laravel agency for Danish SMEs and manufacturers

Morningtrain is an Odense agency founded in 2010, with a Copenhagen office in Nyhavn. It builds B2B websites, B2B webshops, portals, integrations and product configurators on WordPress and Laravel, offers support and maintenance, content and lead generation, and helps clients bring in AI and automation. Kvalifik is a Copenhagen digital studio founded in 2015 and led by its CEO, Rebecca Busk, whose holding company owns two-thirds of the shares. It builds web apps, digital products and websites with a team of about ten. The services here come from its Clutch listing; I did not review its website.

What clients say. Clutch: 4.9/5 from 8 reviews. That is a modest number of reviews, but the second-highest in this ranking. Its gross profit was DKK 7.3m in 2025, and it has been in profit in 2024 and 2025.

Facts: founded 2015 · Copenhagen · about 10 people · $150–199/h · minimum project $10,000 · Danish, English.

My take: a good fit for a start-up or scale-up that wants a compact senior team for a web app. Best for: start-ups and scale-ups that want a senior, compact team for a web app or website. Not for: large programmes that need many developers.

Quality, specialisation and what web development companies in Denmark charge

Four web development companies in Denmark in this ranking show a rate, all on Clutch: $150–199 an hour for Signifly, Morningtrain and Kvalifik, and $100–149 for Adapt, with minimum projects of $5,000 to $10,000. The larger firms quote after a briefing. Invoices are usually in Danish kroner (DKK), which is pegged to the euro, so prices in euros move very little. As a general observation, Danish development rates are among the highest in the EU, which is why some firms here, such as IMPACT and Adapt, also deliver from nearshore or offshore offices.

The main choice is between enterprise CMS and commerce consultancies (Novicell, IMPACT, Vertica), design-led agencies (Signifly, Dwarf), firms for organisations and the public sector (Pentia, Adapt), a B2B specialist on WordPress and Laravel (Morningtrain) and a small studio for web apps (Kvalifik).

How to choose a web development company in Denmark

Choosing a web development company in Denmark starts with the platform and the scope:

  • Platform – ask which CMS or commerce platform the firm builds on most; Novicell and IMPACT work on many enterprise platforms, Morningtrain on WordPress and Laravel.
  • Build or build and run – Vertica and Pentia offer long-term operations and support; agree hosting, service levels and response times in writing.
  • Where the work is done – IMPACT and Adapt use teams outside Denmark; ask who writes the code and who leads the project.
  • Language – English is excellent in Denmark and every firm here works in English; Signifly also runs studios in Canada and London.
  • Compliance – for regulated or public-sector work, ask about accessibility, GDPR and assurance reports such as ISAE 3402.

Also check the paperwork when you hire a web development company in Denmark. Look up the CVR number on datacvr.virk.dk, where you can also download the filed annual accounts, and check the VAT number (DK followed by the CVR number, in most cases) in the EU’s VIES database. If your business is in another EU country and gives its own VAT number, the reverse charge usually applies and the invoice carries no Danish VAT; for a business outside the EU, Danish VAT is in most cases not charged on these services. Confirm with your adviser – this is not legal or tax advice. Denmark is on Central European Time (CET). For comparison, here is the same list for Poland, where rates are lower.
