Most foreign companies that grow in Germany reach a point where their IT has to be run from Germany too – because of German clients, German data protection or simply a German subsidiary that needs local support. This ranking is written for a company from the US, the UK, Poland or the Nordics that needs IT outsourcing companies in Germany for managed services, cloud operations, SAP or a service desk. I kept 10 providers, all registered in the German commercial register, and checked each one’s Impressum.

How I ranked the IT outsourcing companies in Germany
I ranked the IT outsourcing companies in Germany by quality first, fit for a foreign client second and price third:
- Focus on operations – how much of the business is running IT for clients rather than reselling hardware or building software.
- Track record – named clients, years on the market and independent rankings such as ChannelPartner’s.
- Reviews – large German providers rarely use Clutch, so I used other review sources where they exist and say clearly where they do not.
- Data location and certifications – German data centres, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 and BSI C5.
- Registration – every company is registered in Germany and headquartered there.
I left out German branches of foreign groups and companies whose main business is software development – those are in my ranking of software development companies in Germany. Team sizes below are the companies’ own or published figures.
The 10 best IT outsourcing companies in Germany, reviewed
Every IT outsourcing company in Germany below gets the same treatment: who they are, what clients say, the facts that matter when you hire, and my opinion on who should – and should not – work with them.
1. DATAGROUP
Pure-play managed services provider built around a modular service catalogue
DATAGROUP is one of the largest German IT service providers that focus on running other companies’ IT. Its CORBOX catalogue covers service desk, workplace, cloud, network, security and SAP, with more than 500 SAP experts at over 30 German locations and ISO 27001-certified German data centres. The investor KKR has held a majority since 2025.
What clients say. Large outsourcing providers rarely collect public reviews, and I found no Clutch profile. Its client list – Fraport, DPD, Deutsche Bundesbank, Generali and Hella – is the stronger signal.
Facts: founded 1983 · Pliezhausen (Stuttgart) · about 4,000 people · German, English.
My take: the most focused outsourcing provider in this ranking – running corporate IT is its whole business, not a side line. Best for: mid-size and large companies that want to hand over IT operations, from service desk to SAP, to one German provider. Not for: small one-off projects or custom software development.

2. q.beyond
IT partner for the mid-market: SAP, cloud and managed services from German data centres
q.beyond, formerly QSC, provides consulting, integration and operations for medium-sized companies, and most of its revenue comes from managed services: cloud, digital workplace and IT outsourcing. It covers SAP services, private and hybrid cloud, application management, Microsoft 365 and security with 24/7 support, for more than 1,500 customers.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile. Named clients such as Tchibo, Fressnapf, engelbert strauss and Techniker Krankenkasse show that it keeps large, demanding accounts.
Facts: founded 1997 · Cologne · about 1,100 people · German, English.
My take: the right size for a mid-market company: big enough to run SAP and cloud around the clock, small enough to care about your account. Best for: mid-market companies that want SAP operations, cloud hosting and workplace services from one provider. Not for: global enterprises that need delivery in many countries.

3. Arvato Systems
Bertelsmann’s IT services company for multi-cloud operations, SAP hosting and application management
Arvato Systems is the IT services arm of the Arvato Group, part of Bertelsmann. It runs workloads on AWS, Google Cloud and Azure as well as in its own data centres, operates a Security Operations Center and offers SAP application management, SAP hosting and RISE with SAP. Besides German sites it has teams in the Baltics, Romania, Switzerland, Canada, Malaysia and the USA.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile or public review numbers. Its long record of running IT for media, retail and utility groups is the main signal.
Facts: Gütersloh · 3,400+ people · German, English.
My take: the best pick here for a foreign group that wants a German-headquartered partner but also needs some delivery outside Germany. Best for: international companies that need hyperscaler cloud operations and SAP hosting. Not for: small businesses looking for local IT support.

4. Bechtle
Germany’s largest IT systems house, with outsourcing through Bechtle Managed Services
Bechtle is the largest IT systems house in Germany, with about 16,000 employees, more than 70 system houses in German-speaking countries and trading companies in 14 European countries. Beyond supplying hardware and software, it runs and maintains IT for industry and the public sector; outsourcing and managed services are delivered by Bechtle Managed Services AG.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile. Framework contracts with the Bundeswehr and the European Commission show the scale it can handle.
Facts: founded 1983 · Neckarsulm · about 16,000 people · German, English.
My take: the safe choice when you want one partner to buy, roll out and run IT across Germany and Europe – but much of its business is still reselling. Best for: large organisations that want procurement and operations of IT from one company. Not for: buyers who want a small, personal provider or pure application management.

5. SVA System Vertrieb Alexander
Owner-managed system integrator with deep data centre, cloud and operations know-how
SVA was founded in 1997 by Felix and Philipp Alexander and is still run by its owners. From Wiesbaden and 28 sites across Germany it combines products from the major vendors with project and operations services for data centres, cloud, security, workplace and managed services. ChannelPartner ranked it the fifth-largest German systems house by domestic revenue.
What clients say. SVA is not on Clutch or Google reviews in a form I could check; on Cloudtango it has 4.9/5 from 20 reviews, with clients such as Frankfurter Volksbank praising its technical depth.
Facts: founded 1997 · Wiesbaden · 3,200+ people · German, English.
My take: my favourite for infrastructure-heavy work – strong engineers, owners who are still in charge, and good reviews where clients leave them. Best for: enterprises that need data centre and cloud engineering plus ongoing operations. Not for: buyers who want a fully standardised outsourcing catalogue.

6. CANCOM
One of Germany’s largest managed services providers for workplace, security and hybrid cloud
CANCOM delivers IT consulting, implementation and operations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with entities also in Slovakia, Romania and the Czech Republic. It runs Security Operations Centers in all three DACH countries and offers managed networks, hybrid workplace, cloud infrastructure and data centre services, including pay-per-use models.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile and no named reference clients I could verify. Its listing on the SDAX and its size are the main signals.
Facts: founded 1992 · Munich · about 5,200 people · German, English.
My take: a strong all-rounder for DACH, especially if security operations and workplace matter more to you than SAP. Best for: mid-size and large companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that want managed workplace, security and cloud. Not for: companies whose main need is SAP application management.

7. Materna
Family-owned IT group strong in service management, public-sector IT and SAP
Materna is a family-owned IT group from Dortmund with companies in 14 countries. It provides consulting, implementation and managed services for cloud and software, while its subsidiary cbs handles SAP consulting and S/4HANA transformations. It is a major IT provider for German federal and state authorities and supplies self-service systems at about 70 airports.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile. Its work for German customs and federal authorities and for airports such as Frankfurt and Munich is the signal I would rely on.
Facts: founded 1980 · Dortmund · about 4,500 people · German, English.
My take: the specialist when your IT has to meet public-sector or heavily regulated standards in Germany. Best for: public-sector and regulated organisations, and companies that need IT service management or SAP transformation. Not for: small companies that want low-cost basic IT support.

8. plusserver

plusserver runs its own cloud platforms – VMware-based, OpenStack-based and managed Kubernetes – in four German data centres attested to BSI C5 Type II, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS. It also manages databases, backups, private clouds and public-cloud resources for more than 2,000 customers. It is owned by the UK investor BC Partners but was founded and is run in Germany.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile. Reference clients such as Henkel, ABOUT YOU, Schaeffler and DEKRA are the strongest signal.
Facts: founded 1999 · Cologne · 330+ people · German, English.
My take: the clearest choice if your main concern is GDPR and keeping data and operations inside Germany. Best for: companies that need sovereign cloud hosting and managed infrastructure in Germany. Not for: service desk, workplace or SAP application management.
Visit plusserver.com →Company profile & reviews →
9. noris network
Owner-managed data centre operator offering IT outsourcing, managed services and cloud
noris network runs its own high-security data centres in Nuremberg, Munich and Hof. It offers colocation, managed services, cloud and managed Kubernetes, IT for the financial sector and full or partial outsourcing of IT systems and applications for more than 1,000 customers.
What clients say. I found no Clutch profile. Long-standing clients such as adidas, Deutsche Post and Nuremberg Airport are the signal here.
Facts: founded 1993 · Nuremberg · 500–750 people · German, English.
My take: a solid Bavarian partner when you want your systems in German data centres and run by the people who own them. Best for: companies, including financial services, that want hosting and managed operations in Bavaria. Not for: workplace or service desk outsourcing.
Visit noris.de →Company profile & reviews →
10. Controlware
Independent integrator and managed service provider for networks, security and cyber defence
Controlware is an independent German system integrator with 16 sites across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It offers network as a service and infrastructure operations, cyber defence services such as a managed SOC, endpoint detection and vulnerability management, and project and support services for networks, security, data centres and cloud.
What clients say. It has placed in the top five of the “Best Managed Service Provider” ranking by ChannelPartner and COMPUTERWOCHE for six years in a row, based on a survey of more than 1,500 IT decision-makers.
Facts: founded 1980 · Dietzenbach (Frankfurt) · 1,000+ people · German, English.
My take: narrower than the others, but excellent if what you want to outsource is your network and security operations. Best for: companies that want network and security operations or a managed SOC. Not for: SAP operations, application management or service desk outsourcing.

Quality, specialisation and what IT outsourcing companies in Germany charge
IT outsourcing companies in Germany do not publish hourly rates: managed services are priced per user, per server or per SAP system each month, with service levels written into the contract. Expect German rates close to US and UK levels, well above Polish providers. Quality and fit come before price: a cheaper contract with weak service levels costs more the first time your systems go down.
The main choice is between pure outsourcing providers such as DATAGROUP and q.beyond, large systems houses such as Bechtle and CANCOM that also resell hardware, and specialists for hosting (plusserver, noris network) or security (Controlware).
How to choose an IT outsourcing company in Germany
Choosing an IT outsourcing company in Germany starts with what you want to hand over: the service desk and workplace, your servers and cloud, your SAP system, or your network and security. Ask each provider for a reference client of your size, for its standard service levels and for where your data and your support team will sit.
Also check whether the IT outsourcing company in Germany can support your staff in English, how it handles the hand-over from your current provider and what the exit terms are – outsourcing contracts usually run for three to five years.
IT outsourcing companies in Germany: FAQ
The questions foreign companies ask most before hiring IT outsourcing companies in Germany.
Why hire IT outsourcing companies in Germany instead of offshore providers?
Foreign companies hire IT outsourcing companies in Germany because they keep data in German data centres under German and EU law, speak German with local staff and clients, and know German compliance rules. The price is higher than offshore, so many companies combine a German provider for operations with nearshore developers.
Do IT outsourcing companies in Germany work in English?
Yes, IT outsourcing companies in Germany that serve international clients work in English, and all ten providers in this ranking have English websites. Day-to-day service desk support in English should still be agreed in the contract.
Can an IT outsourcing company in Germany run SAP?
Yes, an IT outsourcing company in Germany can run SAP. DATAGROUP, q.beyond, Arvato Systems and Materna all offer SAP application management and hosting, and DATAGROUP alone has more than 500 SAP experts.
Which IT outsourcing company in Germany is best for a mid-size company?
The best IT outsourcing company in Germany for a mid-size company is, in my opinion, q.beyond, which is built for the mid-market. DATAGROUP is the stronger choice if you want to outsource almost all of your IT operations.
My verdict: which IT outsourcing company in Germany to hire
Choosing among IT outsourcing companies in Germany depends on what you hand over. To outsource most of your IT operations, hire DATAGROUP. For a mid-size company with SAP and cloud, hire q.beyond. For hyperscaler cloud with international reach, hire Arvato Systems. For data that must stay in Germany, hire plusserver.
Whichever IT outsourcing company in Germany you choose, read the service levels and exit clauses before the price – they decide how the next five years go.
